Twin Lakes Recreational Area – Allegheny National Forest

The Twin Lakes Recreation Area is located within the Allegheny National Forest just north of Wilcox. Campers love Twin Lakes for its swimming beaches, hiking trails and lakeside fishing piers. Nearby Mill Creek offers native trout fishing, and can be accessed along the Mill Creek Trail.

The Campground offers 50 modern family campsites.  Electric is available on many.
The day use area includes a playground, swimming beach with a bathhouse, picnic tables, walking trails and a great fishing pier.  The Marienville ATV / Bike Trail is located nearby.

The Twin Lakes area was developed as a recreational area in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). All of the facilities at Twin Lakes are universally accessible.

Twin Lakes Campground offers a variety of sites, from group picnic and overnight sites to family sites with and without electric hookups. Amenities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water and a dump station. Ice and firewood are available for purchase. (Click on the picture above for additional information!)

Due to small-sized campsites and a railroad underpass with a 10-foot clearance located on the entrance road, it is not recommended for use by RV’s longer than 28 feet or needing greater than 10 foot clearance. Unlimited access is also provided to Twin Lakes near Wilcox on the Clarion & Dahoga Roads.
